Are you planning a climbing session? Your route is booked, but you’re not sure about the outfit to wear? Sporty, without a doubt, but should we protect ourselves? Is there any mandatory equipment? How to dress in high heat, during rainy weather? To prepare you best for your climbing session, here are some tips from the CELT’AVENTURES team! Follow the guide!

1/ Should I invest in a special outfit?
NO: no need to invest.
No worries: you will find the outfit you need for climbing in your own wardrobe. No need to invest in special equipment, or go to a specialized store or a sports store.
2/ Should I wear sportswear?
YES, sports clothing is recommended.
In any case, to go climbing, you need to dress sporty and light! Clothes in which you feel comfortable to move, soft clothing that adapts to your movements. The ideal: tight clothing, leggings, joggers, shorts, t-shirt.

3/ Should we dress the same way in all weather?
NO, of course, you need to adapt your outfit to the weather.
In hot weather: prefer light and short clothing, t-shirt, shorts. In cold weather: light clothing, but long sleeves, joggers, leggings, etc.
4/ Is it necessary to wear special clothing in rainy weather?
YES AND NO
- It is good to know that in rainy weather, it is always possible to practice tree climbing safely, protected under the cover of the trees.
- The umbrella is not necessary, moreover, it cannot be used on the course itself.
- Waterproof clothing, like K-way, is welcome, but not absolutely necessary.
In case of heavy rain or severe storms, the park management reserves the right to limit or postpone the practice of certain activities, with a rescheduling or refund of the ticket.
5/ Are accessories (jewelry, bracelets, etc.) allowed?
No, no accessories.
Leave at home your jewelry, bracelets, necklaces, watches… anything that could get caught, unplugged, lost, or in the case of the watch, suffer from a shock. Similarly, accessories like scarves are prohibited.
NB: In case of forgetfulness, Celt’Aventures provides you with locked lockers to store your valuables. However, the park disclaims any responsibility in case of theft.
6/ Hair, loose or tied?
Tied.
If you have long hair, it will be more comfortable and safer to have it tied up. However, make sure to tie it in a way that allows the helmet to be worn.
7/ Is wearing a helmet mandatory?
NO, but the helmet is highly recommended during your climbing trail.
The helmet is recommended for all ages, for safety reasons. The helmet is one of the equipment that the park lends you. Special mention Covid 19: All our equipment, helmets included, is disinfected after each course. In compliance with health constraints; we provide you with a disposable cap to wear under the helmet.
8/ Are gloves mandatory?
YES, gloves are mandatory during the climbing course.
This is mandatory equipment, for all routes and all ages, for reasons of comfort, safety, and hygiene.
- New gloves can be sold by the park, at the price of 2 euros per pair.
- You can also bring your own gloves, those you use for winter as long as they are thin enough, for gardening, or for practical sports…
Note that no route is accessible without gloves, so it is essential to choose one of these two options.
9/ Are all types of shoes suitable for tree climbing?
No, not all types of shoes are suitable for tree climbing.
- As a sporting activity, it is necessary to choose sport-appropriate shoes, like sneakers. Recommended: hiking shoes, walking shoes, or those with spikes.
- Heels or open shoes are prohibited.
- Similarly, boots, sneakers, and flip-flops are prohibited.
10/ Can I choose any color to dress?
Yes, but…
For dressing, you can choose any type of color.
- But since this is a sporting activity in the middle of the forest, to avoid getting your clothes dirty, we advise you to avoid light shades, which can be stained by resin or dirt.

Finally, know that in addition to the appropriate outfit, the park systematically provides you with the necessary equipment for your protection during your tree walk. All climbing routes necessarily require the use of a safety harness, connected throughout the course to a continuous lifeline. This way, your safety is guaranteed at all times!
